On November 20, 2024, the Embassy organized a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania and Turkmen students studying at universities in Romania.

In his speech, Ambassador A. Annaev noted the achievements in the country’s youth policy, as well as the role and high role of the young generation in various fields. It was said about the expectations of the current generation of patriotism, the desire for knowledge and service for strengthening and prosperity of the state of Turkmenistan.

During the speeches, it was noted about the large-scale events held in 2024 „The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world – Makhtumkuli Fragi”, the ancient Turkmen city of Anau, which became the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024, as well as the results of the International Forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fragi „Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development”.

As the Ambassador noted, the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi are held both within the country and abroad, aimed at preserving, studying and popularizing in the world the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, which is an integral part of the universal cultural treasury. Today, the work of Magtymguly Fragi penetrates the spiritual world of people and reflects universal human life issues. It is for this reason that his beautiful poems, sounding  like a song and absorbed in memory as wisdom, have been and are being translated into dozens of languages ​​​​of the world, including Romanian.

The speakers talked about the role of Magtymguly Fragi’s work in Turkmen, as well as in world literature, about the study of the philosophical heritage of the poet, about new discoveries in the research of his life and work. It was also noted that the polished, profound thoughts in these wonderful verses, directed towards the future, meet the spiritual needs of not only the Turkmen people, but also all of humanity.
